Stand Together Stand Alone

Ultimately we are alone. We will stand before God alone and only Jesus can stand with us then. Therefore, it is important to live in that reality now and walk with him here. Put all of our trust in him, because he is all you got.

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, for each one should carry their own load. -- Galatians 6:2-5 NIV

No mentors, no godly family members, no one can take steps for you. No one can carry your load. We can, should, and must support, encourage, help, pray for, and love each other. We must also depend on others for support. We need each other, but after all is said and done, no one can take our steps for us, and we cannot take steps for other people.

It is not good to walk and work without companionship here on earth; just that we cannot put all of our responsibility on them. We have to bear our own weight, and we have to trust Jesus with that weight; not man. Your companions will not be standing with you on that day. So, take up the yoke of Jesus and work for God.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” -- Matthew 11:28-30 NIV

As you take responsibility for yourself and your growth while relying on God, endeavor to be the support for other people that you have needed yourself. Encourage, love, pray for and serve others to help build them up and help them stand.
